(12) Preliminary Task: Magazine Cover Explanation

Welcome again, so I've decided I'm going with this magazine cover I made

For today I'm gonna talk more about this cover, how it was made, the problems in making it, and pretty much why I styled it the way I did, so lets get into it

This magazine was made put together using Canva, for the laptop image I took a picture of my laptop using my phone, I used the flash setting to get that awesome light on the right that makes it look stereotypically new and clean. The text was all written by me and styled by me, with fonts and visual effects provided by Canva. The background is a stereotypical hacker type looking image which I was able to achieve simply using javascript, css, and html to put together and then I simply screenshotted my work and uploaded it as the background of the magazine where I blurred it slightly. Finally the barcode was made by me using a barcode generator.

There were some problems getting the right picture of my computer, in fact I took over 20 pictures trying to get it right. But it was worth it, as far as layout I based it on real life magazines I saw online and ones I've seen in video games of which I took inspiration from both. Here have a look,

So from looking at both these magazines one real, one fictional, you can see where I drew my inspiration for some elements. I love coding and made it based around it and the colors that revolve around that subject are usually red, green, and blue or as you know the color of pixels, rgb values haha. I've taken lessons on ux and I also know the colors green and blue which I use mostly in my magazine cover can be used to give a sense of trust, safety and growth, so it's a great way to make a viewer feel visually comfortable.

I use font size to convey the importance of each heading and subheading as the viewer naturally reads in the way of a size hierarchy. I also use an F layout in my magazine so the reader reads more in the lanes of where I want them too, this is more natural. The small quote at the bottom is for humor purposes and is colored white to represent it's not part of the F layout I've made and is instead a hook for a viewer that has read thus far and presumably interested, this is my thought process at least. The fonts I used in the magazine are to look more visually appealing and unique, this is their sole purpose, to capture visual attention.

Anyways, I hope I made this clear why I made this the way I did and how I did it!

Thanks for reading!!

(9) Let's talk...Mise-en-scene

Hey today we're gonna learn about...MISE-EN-SCENE!! But what is Mise-en-scene? Simply put Mise-en-scene is literally "placing on stage" in French; all the elements that appear on camera and their arrangement. So everything from the makeup that goes into a scene to how the scene is setup. Alrighty so let me get into each of the features for you to give you a better understanding of everything that Mise-en-scene encompasses. Production design: Production designers are the people responsible for the visual concepts of a film, such as television or theater production. They work closely with the director and producer while they design a style for the elements incorporated in a film. Location: The location of a film sets the mood and supports the action. For example, in a abandoned McDonalds the location would give you suspicion and a horror mood. Studio: A film studio is either a entertainment company or a motion picture company. These companies have their own privately studio...

(58) That's crazy bro- FINAL Feature Story

This is it, welcome back guys, today I have for you my revised feature story, the final version! My teacher reviewed my feature story draft and suggested some changes, so I'll show you that first-    My teacher suggested I delete the part were I say this is a feature story, because it should be obvious and in hindsight it is, so I'm grateful she pointed that out, it makes it more professional! I didn't notice it before, but I was also repeating some information, she pointed it out and I corrected it promptly! Finally she suggested I delete some of these sentence starters I use at the start of each of my paragraphs, and I think it's a great idea as it helps with the continuity of the entire feature story instead of making it feel like multiple small segmented parts, overall I'm very grateful for her advice as I believe it has drastically improved my feature story from were it was as a draft! Now enough suspense, here is the finalized version of my feature story! -F...

Hey guys welcome to another blog, so after the photoshoots I conducted an interview with Tyrone for our feature story, he gave my great answers to my questions. The questions I had for him were more specific as they were meant for him and I gave him some about men's fashion since he is a man and happens to also like fashion in some sense. So let's get into the responses- -Start- Q 1. Alright Tyrone what's good bro, so what do you know about men's fashion? A. I actually know a lot, I like to post my drip on social media, and if I'm being honest I wanna try to be a model some time in the future Q 2.  That's cool, so what do you do on a more day to day basis? A. Man I'm hustling out here, I sell clothes online, work at an airport, and I exercise just about every other day, bring them girls back home you know, haha Q 3. So Tyrone, how would you describe yourself as a person? A. You see a lot of ***** out here are blessed, but me man, nah, I had work harder tha...
