(16) Preliminary Task: Double Page Spread Explanation

Hey guys, so today I'm gonna explain my double page spread, how I designed it, what I was thinking, and of course the problems I ran into making it. I believe this is practice for when I do the real deal, so it's probably not official, just a rough draft. Take a look at it again- Alright so my goal here was to make it look like a double page spread and what that basically is to me is an idea being conveyed through the use of two pages, I hope I made it very clear, I put ideas of one page on to the other and vice versa, you can see the spine of the page being halved to convey it's one idea. In the second page it asks what the "best programming language?" and it lists opinions like c++, ruby, javascript, and so on that can be seen on both pages to show they are one. You can see me making thoughtful and amused facial expressions on both pages as well. My main thought process in this double page spread was to show that they are one and share the same ideas and style

Lets discuss my table of contents page, here check it out next to my magazine cover,   If there is one thing they got, I can tell you it's that they are flashy!! Obviously the tech and computer field is one based on code and high tech equipment, unfortunately I don't have 10 million dollars for a quantum computer or some similarly impressive technology that I can take an original photo of. What I do have however is intermediate design skills. Here is my inspiration for the table of contents, There are many layouts, but I really enjoyed the simplicity and effectiveness of this layout. Everything in my table of contents is original, you can see the table of contents made with the simple use of text and basic fonts that use size hierarchy to make for a smooth and visually pleasing ux. The theme of this magazine is around computer science, technology, and coding, so there are some programming references here, such as html opening (&

(12) Preliminary Task: Magazine Cover Explanation

Welcome again, so I've decided I'm going with this magazine cover I made For today I'm gonna talk more about this cover, how it was made, the problems in making it, and pretty much why I styled it the way I did, so lets get into it This magazine was made put together using Canva, for the laptop image I took a picture of my laptop using my phone, I used the flash setting to get that awesome light on the right that makes it look stereotypically new and clean. The text was all written by me and styled by me, with fonts and visual effects provided by Canva. The background is a stereotypical hacker type looking image which I was able to achieve simply using javascript, css, and html to put together and then I simply screenshotted my work and uploaded it as the background of the magazine where I blurred it slightly. Finally the barcode was made by me using a barcode generator. There were some problems getting the right picture of my computer, in fact I took over 20 pictures try
