(22) Hey I got something for you...Magazine Types

Your back? I didn't think you'd be back to be honest, not quite sure what to do from here, didn't really plan to get this far...hmm, I mean since your already here I guess I can show you something new. Let me see here *looks through collection of hundreds of drafted blog ideas for the year*, ah here is a good one, lets go over Magazine Types!! So today I'll be discussing magazine types with you, lets begin!!!

There are 3 main types of magazines that most other magazines fall under as sub-categories, today I'll discuss both in ONE blog, enjoy;

CONSUMER MAGAZINES;

Our first type of magazine is consumer magazines, the target audience for these types of magazines are the general public and have the widest readership of the 3 types. Some popular examples of this type of magazine are Vogue, Sports Illustrated, and Reader's Digest, most of which we've mentioned in previous blogs. They are commonly printed on glossy papers and as such are often referred to by people in the publishing world as "glossies".

This type of magazine has many sub-categories/types to it which we can think of as the magazine genre as it is based on the more specific target audience of a publication, we will cover these genres more in depth in future blogs, but for now I will just give a brief overview on the most popular categories/genres;

1. News and General Interest Magazines
2. Cooking Magazines
3. Fashion Magazines
4. Art Magazines
5. Technology Magazines
6. Health Magazines
7. Children's Magazines
8. Business Magazines
9. Travel Magazines
10. Cultural Magazines
11. Automotive Magazines
12. Pet Magazines
13. Sports Magazines
14. Entertainment Magazines

TRADE MAGAZINES;

Next up trade magazines are to made to help keep members of an industry up to date on it, this could include new technologies, practices, techniques, and other related information to the industry/trade.
By now you can guess they are targeting a niche market with these types of magazines and their purpose is to keep this demographic informed on the industry/trade it covers. These types of magazines act as trusted resources within their respective industry demographic.

ORGANIZATION MAGAZINES;

Our last main type of magazine would be organization magazines which fall into 3 sub-types which we can quickly cover;

1. Society
This is an organizational magazine you get these magazines typically if you are a part of an organization, society, or an employee. Their purpose is to keep people informed and to bring people together.

2. Promotional
This is another organizational magazine used as PR tool for organizations. They are typically free and designed with a specified goal or agenda in mind.

3. Product
Finally the last type of organizational magazine would be the product magazine, these are usually supplied after a purchase or used to advertise certain products.

So in summary organizational magazines are any types of magazines that are used to bring people in organizations informed and together. Be used as a PR tool for organizations, or be used for products and to advertise products, which you may think of as the organization of the people who buy the product, at least that's how I think of it. Now we've officially covered all 3 main magazine types.

As always I hope you learned something new, the next blog we'll cover will be on the sub-categories or genres of the consumer magazine type, it's 14 in total and I'd greatly enjoy to cover them all, so I hope you get excited for that!!

Thanks for Reading!!

(9) Let's talk...Mise-en-scene

Hey today we're gonna learn about...MISE-EN-SCENE!! But what is Mise-en-scene? Simply put Mise-en-scene is literally "placing on stage" in French; all the elements that appear on camera and their arrangement. So everything from the makeup that goes into a scene to how the scene is setup. Alrighty so let me get into each of the features for you to give you a better understanding of everything that Mise-en-scene encompasses. Production design: Production designers are the people responsible for the visual concepts of a film, such as television or theater production. They work closely with the director and producer while they design a style for the elements incorporated in a film. Location: The location of a film sets the mood and supports the action. For example, in a abandoned McDonalds the location would give you suspicion and a horror mood. Studio: A film studio is either a entertainment company or a motion picture company. These companies have their own privately studio...

(58) That's crazy bro- FINAL Feature Story

  This is it, welcome back guys, today I have for you my revised feature story, the final version! My teacher reviewed my feature story draft and suggested some changes, so I'll show you that first-    My teacher suggested I delete the part were I say this is a feature story, because it should be obvious and in hindsight it is, so I'm grateful she pointed that out, it makes it more professional! I didn't notice it before, but I was also repeating some information, she pointed it out and I corrected it promptly! Finally she suggested I delete some of these sentence starters I use at the start of each of my paragraphs, and I think it's a great idea as it helps with the continuity of the entire feature story instead of making it feel like multiple small segmented parts, overall I'm very grateful for her advice as I believe it has drastically improved my feature story from were it was as a draft! Now enough suspense, here is the finalized version of my feature story! -F...

  Hey guys welcome to another blog, so after the photoshoots I conducted an interview with Tyrone for our feature story, he gave my great answers to my questions. The questions I had for him were more specific as they were meant for him and I gave him some about men's fashion since he is a man and happens to also like fashion in some sense. So let's get into the responses- -Start- Q 1. Alright Tyrone what's good bro, so what do you know about men's fashion? A. I actually know a lot, I like to post my drip on social media, and if I'm being honest I wanna try to be a model some time in the future Q 2.  That's cool, so what do you do on a more day to day basis? A. Man I'm hustling out here, I sell clothes online, work at an airport, and I exercise just about every other day, bring them girls back home you know, haha Q 3. So Tyrone, how would you describe yourself as a person? A. You see a lot of ***** out here are blessed, but me man, nah, I had work harder tha...
