(33) You are out of uniform, soldier! Where is your...Market Research

Alright guys so to determine exactly what kind of magazine I should do I have decided to do a survey and a little research

Here is the link

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1UMQhin0W08Dn6ociUk0xiymlc2CWau1m9Wdlr9hrSj0/viewform?edit_requested=true

So let's go over some of the results and determine how to best make this magazine

I had 6 questions in the survey, so let's review them

So according to the people they want either a purple or red primary color for our magazine. Purple colors usually convey like royalty and are generally pretty fancy. Red colors are energetic and that could go well with our magazine, it's 50/50 so this tie breaker is up to me, but when you think about it, the people that voted for blue probably meant to pick red, so let's go with red

So from this question the people clearly want men's fashion, not my first choice, but hey I'm happy to oblige, moving on.

I added this question just to see what props we should add for the magazine, you know to make it look spiffy. It seems everyone want's to see gold chains, it is men's fashion after all so I'd definitely agree on this one

Alright so the result's were pretty split on this one, they clearly don't want me on the magazine 😎, so that's great, but they can't seem to chose between our other two teammates, in times like this I find it difficult to chose one person over the other, it's just so cruel!! So I'll choose neither, we'll have some fun and make it a mystery guest!!

According to this the people want to our magazine to look cool, I can see that!!

Now for our last question, and it seems like most people want our fonts to look formal and high class.

Hmm, AH, I see it now, I can imagine this magazine perfectly now.

Think about it a distinguished yet energetic men's magazine with an aura of cool and high class, what a great idea, glad I THOUGHT OF IT!!! Just kidding, thanks for everyone who participated

We'll discuss our magazine more in the next blog, thanks for reading!!

(63) But wait...there's more!! Creative Critical Reflection #1

The end is nigh. Welcome back guys, well now that we've finished our magazine, let's reflect on this journey! So this is one of four critical reflections that I will be doing! Within each of these I will be answering and reflecting on a question about our magazine. So for today, How does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues?     Well to answer the first part of this question, let me put it simply, my magazine consists of all the basic conventions of a magazine. It includes a masthead, a main image, cover lines, a date line, a barcode, and a price. Throughout the production process of this magazine I was inspired by many different magazines like Men's Journal and Playboy Magazine. In the cover page, the first thing you notice is my masthead. The masthead is the title of a magazine located at the top of the cover page. I used font hierarchy to determine what I wanted the viewer to see first. I called the magazine Menl...

(30) It's not about the GRA...anatomy of page DEsign part 2!!!

*Dying* argh...totally worth...the joke...*dies* If you can appreciate that statement for it's depth then you have great perception. I hope these aren't all flying over your head, anyways let's get back to...work...I MEAN FUN LEARNING!! You believing that right? You said no? Good, I don't wanna pretend, let's get straight to it, today I will be covering the remaining terms I see as critical to understand when discussing the anatomy of page design. So to recap I will be discussing body text, images, and graphics today. Let us begin! Body Text: The body text is basically the main text content of an article or feature within a magazine. This text is typically set in a readable font and size, and is positioned in a way that allows the reader to easily scan and read through the content.  The body text is an important part of the overall design of a magazine page, as it provides the main information and content for the reader. In terms of page design, the body text is t...

(49) Your a star baby!! Model 2 Photoshoot

WE CHILLING!? HUH, just kidding, welcome back guys, I think it's time for another banger of a photoshoot, this time it will be of our second model whom we will refer to as Demarcus. Let's not waste any more time, check out these pictures we did- Our photo shoots were done over a couple of days and he sent me a good bit of photos too to help save time, obviously this is about Men's Fashion so getting good photos takes a little longer, but it was clearly worth it, also on a side note I've decided we will be interviewing Tyrone for our actual feature story, so look forward to that! I hope you enjoyed our second model's photoshoot. Until next time, thanks for reading!
